I’ve got a lot of objections. I suppose I could wisely use this space to create some fantastic, Pulitzer Prize winning piece of satire of those objections, but I think I am just going to use this half page to vent my frustrations. Being the worldly, driven student that I am, every day I make some effort, however small, to educate myself as to the current affairs of the world.
Some might question this practice, demanding to know why I intentionally expose myself to more of the misery this world offers, as if my unending reading assignments don’t supply enough. Others might be confounded as to why I would bother to expand my horizons beyond the idyllic Charlottesville sphere. But as silly and unnecessary as it may seem, I take joy in learning about goings-on in far off corners of the world.Read more...
