Few American events are as dignified as the Academy Awards. It is as integral a part of our rich tradition as Flag Day, and is met with a sense of communal elation rarely seen outside of Tax Day. This being America’s most honored showcase for its liberals, gays, Jews, and other such amusing minorities, there is naturally some resistance whenever change is proposed, no matter how great or small.
