The accident happened so quickly—I could barely see it. I recently watched a video online in which Titus Andronicus frontman Patrick Stickles, in a rare solo performance, absolutely butchered “Darkness on the Edge of Town” by Bruce Springsteen. He forgot the lyrics a few different times (admitting it during the song), hit wrong chords, and shrieked out the lyrics, proving that his ragged delivery works best (and probably only) within the fray of his own songs.Read more...
